LiMON-Technology

LiMON is a monitor for the non-invasive measurement of global liver function based on the elimination of the diagnostic drug ICG-PULSION. ICG-PULSION is injected intravenously and its blood concentration is observed over time by non-invasive transcutaneouse pulse densitometry. The elimination rate can be used to evaluate the global liver function since ICG-PULSION is eliminated exclusively by the liver. The high diagnostic value of the ICG elimination reflecting liver function is validated by many scientific publications and has been an established principle for more than 20 years.
Striking Advantages | Non-invasive measurement Only a transcutaneous sensor and any venous access for injection is needed for the measurement.
| | Quick information Bed-side results are obtained within 5-10 minutes.
| | Specific and sensitive parameters ICG-PULSION elimination is well established for quantification of liver function and splanchnic perfusion.
| | Simple application Results are not user dependent; up to 20 measurements per 24 hours are possible.
| | Time and cost saving Early diagnosis and focused therapeutic intervention improve cost-efficacy.
| | High prognostic value High selectivity and sensitivity of outcome prediction has scientifically been proven by several studies.

Indications (Fields of application) | Intensive Care Medicine Diagnosis and Monitoring of liver dysfunction or decreased splanchnic perfusion, and Prognosis evaluation in all criticaly ill patients, especially those with: - Sepsis / SIRS - Shock - Acute liver failure - Multiorgan failure - Multiple trauma - ARDS / lung injury Also: - Post high risk cardiac surgery - Post major abdominal surgery
Therapy Guidance of conventional or adjunctive/supportive therapies such as: - Fluid therapy - Catecholamine therapy - Renal replacement therapies (fluid withdrawal) - Adjunctive and supportive therapies Activated Protein C (Sepsis therapy) Liver support therapies
| | Liver Surgery / Liver Transplantation - Diagnosis and Monitoring of graft dysfunction after liver transplantation - Therapy Guidance of liver transplantation - Quality evaluation of donor organs for liver transplantation - Diagnosis and Monitoring of liver dysfunction after liver surgery (resection, ablation etc.) - Prognosis evaluation and Therapy Guidance pre liver surgery
| | Hepatology / Gastroenterology - Early Diagnosis of acute decompensation of chronic liver disease - Monitoring of liver function in patients suffering from chronic liver disease
| | Paediatrics - Diagnosis and Monitoring of congenital liver failure in children and neonates |
